Road trip! Come we gooi!

Don’t know about you but my bek is still klanking after vrieting Shark bokkoms since Saturday, the Stormers wysed the mense that you can’t wanna just come wys us we are going to swap place with the Lions because we lost a paar game, just keep your bek  and go sit in the corner while the big mense talk.

There was over 41 000 mense at Newlands on Saturday, kykie that is mos from our people, when our team play , we stiekuit vol vraag not just when they winning. Stormers supporters are ysters and the coach and captain wysed afterwards they really owed the fans a win for the loyalty and mal support they give. Now unless you were at the crazy R10 party at Gala on Friday night and suiped you dronk on Bertrams then you are mos wys that the Stormers kapped the Sharks 22 – 15, a win that the team was In bad need of because they did only win 2 so far, the 2 games nogals against the Cheifs and Brumbies but nobba that, losing 4 games is no joke and with a  tour coming up they had get get a W next to their names even if they had to jep it. The guys really put their koppe together and played like we know they can, Siya, Ginger and Duane tackled like the coach was waiting for them with a nat lap and Ginger also also gave Jannie the Bok a lekka kak time in the scrums. Juan de Jong scored a mal try after Jean gave him a lekka try and he did his handoff-step move to go in behind the posts, lucky he lossed the gangnam style at home, the mense on the Danie  Craven stand would maklik have thrown him with a windchip or three. Joe “Percy” Pieterson kept kicking like it’s the easiest thing in the world and the Sharks were always chasing the game and with the amount of times they dropped the ball I scheme they would still be chasing of the game was still on now.

Afterwards the coach and captain were lekka rustig, smiling and joking and what not because they were vrek relieved and because the julle players are coming back from injury instead of being sidelined because of it. Deon Fourie kapped his kop and was concussed but will be in time for the first tour game because of the bye this weekend, Habana, Elstsadt, Scarra and Hakkies(vd Heever) are all reg to be picked and YSterbeth may also be good to go but they not so hundreds about him yet – I scheme they want to leave him at home because the food bill will be too much, that is one big laaitie.

The Stormers play the Hurricanes , Waratahs , Blues and Rebels while on tour and the first two games is on a Friday so start preparing your kaarte for your laanies now already.

Any rate – is safe from me – Boeta C. Storm saam. Permy

When last did a man play a lekka Street Fighter/ Mortal Kombat nommer ? I nogals miss lamming at the babbie shop skieting 2 bop games all day with only a pakkie wind chips to vriet on.

Anyways I’m supposed to be talking about rugby here so let me maar get into that, The Stormers lost. Again. This is not lekka and definitely not what I had in my mind before the season started, last years maach to the semi-finals and then winning the Currie Cup with a klimp laaities plustens recruiting lekka from the Lions I thought, like most mense think , THIS is going to be the year of the STORMER!

Maybe not. A injury time penalty from Burton Francis kicked the Cheetahs into history and the Stormers into their moer. 2 from 6 is not where Allister Coetsee and the manne pictured themselves at this point of the season and it doesn’t get easier this weekend when the Sharks swim into town, the Sharks plus Craigy Joubert is going to be kaaaak my bru, im wysing you now, if were didn’t know now you know, Joubert don’t grand us and is going to Pappa wag vir jou our team face to face, just watch.

What was kwaai about the Cheetahs game was the way the lineouts functioned and I just want to officially tell DeKock Steenkamp that I’m sorry about all the crap I spoke about him over the last few years, I never thought him to be a bad player, its just that I never thought him to be good either but junne this brah is only playing his moer off week after week and has about 10 lineout steals already this season which is quite frankly vrek gehaard, so Kokkie – I salute you!

The Sharks come into CT after a bladdy hard fought win over the Crusaders,  they did bladdy well to take that game after being just behind at HT, everybody thought that the Crusaders would come out in the second hald and vat weg but the banana boys wysed them wies baas to come and win 21 – 17 and are now lamming at 3 rd on the log.

The Cheetahs and Kings are having a bit of a fairytale nommer at the moment, the Cheetahs are having their best run that they ever had and you can’t help but think shame, lekka for them. After a lekka paar years of playing for spek en boentjies they are finally doing something that matters and making it look good at the same time while the Kings are doing so bladdy well at wysing SARU a Up Yours every week that you have to love them, last weeks Jake White thought he had another win to make up for another lost hair but The Kings, in true SA fashion came after the hooter and stole 3 points from the game claiming the draw and a 4 try BP. The Lions can maar kap vas in the Vodacom Cup.

1.       Highlanders vs Brumbies – My brasse there by Sharks World wys the Highlanders will win this one but I don’t scheme the Brumbies will lose two on the trot – Brumbies by 9 as they try and get over last weeks draw

2.       Chiefs vs Reds – Chiefs are once again sitting on top of the log looking down at everyone else and shouting “sis you are too dirty”  while the mense try and climb the ladder, they will have too much firepower all round for this Reds team who are blowing hot and cold – Chiefs by 5

3.       Blues vs Hurricanes – This game is going to be WOELAG, I’m kak serious. Both teams have been playing some lekka rugby and only 1 point is between them on the log, you have to go with the home team on this one  my call – Blues by 8 (late try)

4.       Rebels vs Kings – KINGS KINGS KINGS – At the beginning of the season they would have targeted the Force fixture and rebels fixture as possible wins, they chopped up the Force in PE and made a paar other teams skrik, they are going to beat the Rebels by at least 7 – Kings by 11

5.       Stormers vs Sharks – yoh how now, I always pick Stormers to win. All the time, but this Sharks team is not neeking around, they aren’t exactly playing the jassist rugby in town but they are winning and winning becomes a bit of a habit (is tikking also like winning?) while our beloved Stormers are sitting with a bad habit of losing. The home team still has a decent amount of experience in the team and Joe has been kicking like an yster, add to that the 40 000 voices backing them our boys may make a game of this – Sharks by 3

6.       Bulls vs Cheetahs – I’m going Cheetahs here. The Bulls aren’t settled and the mielie boere are going to be greedy to prove a point. A not to be missed game – Cheetahs by 6

Saville’s Savvy Super Rugby preview (Round 2)

After last week’s struggle to give out my predictions for the curtain raiser for the Super Rugby season, I decided to call in an expert. A man with a long list of rugby achievements such as:

  • The first man to ever sit through ALL Heineken Cup matches on a weekend and NOT have his eyes bleed.
  • The first man to not have a single drop of beer watching a Springbok game.
  • He doesn’t even eat biltong man!

Yes, some of these stats are exaggerated ( he DOES in fact eat Biltong) but his love for the game is second only to his hate for Cape Crusaders. Lady and Gentlemen… Please welcome PotzCorner’s FIRST EVER guest writer… Clayton Saville aka “Provincejoulekkading”

Super Rugby Week 2

 Super-Rugby-2013-138942_951x340

Vodacom Super Rugby got off to a not so super start last weekend, SANZAR saw fit to kick off our rugby fix with 2 Australian derbies between the Rebels and the Force and the Brumbies and the Reds.

The Rebels managed to squeak past the Western Force while Jake Whites Brumbies, bolstered by signings like David Pocock did a number on the Reds , beating them 24 – 6 and leaving Ewen McKenzie with lots to think about. Continue reading
